Does anyone know where I can get spider alloys cheaper than the main dealer?

How much should I expect to pay for second hand spiders, I see there is a secondhand set for sale in classified for £1500!!

Will the So2's from the standard 4.5 18" rims fit spiders?

mike e is right, tms tvr sold me a set of spiders for approx £150 a wheel.

With tyres I ended up spending about £1200 all in!

makes those second hand ones seem a bit rich.

I hope I do not incur Ted`s wrath for this but I have a set of brand new(I think 10 delivery miles on my car before the 18 inchers were fitted) 16 inch spiders with tyres which I am prepared to sell. I´ll submit a proper advert as well

As far as I know, it's not just a case of buying the wheels and slapping them straight on.

I believe that the rear wheel arches require modifying, the front dampers need to be changed, and the steering rack bushes/stoppers need fitting.

I don't know the costs of this though ??

I haven't had this done, so someone else may know more of exactly what is entailed to do the job properly??

It isnt quite as drastic as that.
On my 98 4.5 I had some minor alterations to be able to fit two pairs of FRONT tuscan 18inch spiders. Spacers and hub alterations only I think. No body work or damper changes.

To fit 18” on a Cerbera you should have the steering rack bushes/stoppers fitted and bump stops on the rear suspension, dampers don’t need changing. Depending on whether you have 4 front Tuscan wheels or 2 front and 2 rear Tuscan wheels (the offsets are different) you’ll either need the end on the half shafts ground off on the rears (front Tuscan wheels on the rear) or possibly the rear arches shaved to stop the wheels rubbing on the arches (rear Tuscan wheels on the rear). Both are TVR approved mods when fitting these wheels. Out of interest brand new Cerberas from the factory are still having their aches shaved to stop the wheels rubbing

Sounds drastic, what do you grind this off with...?

Me too, and I've got 235/40 tyres on the front and 255/35 on the rear. None of mine have rubbed yet over various terrain. But there again I don't try hump back bridges 'Dukes of hazzard' style

second hand 16s for a cerb - woudnt bother , go for something bigger to fill those arches? Save for new 18 spiders or go for second hand original fitment 17s from a 4.5 that has been 'upgraded'

Sounds worse then it is, 3-4mm needs to be ground off with a grinder - this is so the centre caps fit.

All right they are probably not spiders, and the tyres are dead, but there cheap (at the moment)

Noticed with my spiders fitted that there is a little 'give' in the steering wheel before the steering rack engages. Is this normal or has mine been setup wrong ???

To fit 18" spiders to a Cerby without any mods you simply buy 4 front spiders. They don't cause any snagging. Chris Neils quoted me £1.5K with Toyo's.
