I was told by castle TVR that once my car had done 1000miles and had the relevent service that the car could be driven hard through the rev range is this not the case then as their seems to be a few different opinions ive read on these forums? and i want to do the car justice not abuse it.
Also can anyone advise me on how true it is that the cerbera 4.5 once having had the 1000 mile service as mine has the oil is replaced with 15-40 semi synth mobil oil, until it has had its 6000 mile service where it then has mobil 1 fully synth oil i understand the logic in this for the bedding in of the components due to the lubricating properties of the above mentioned oils but Is it true that the car is expected to use 1ltr of oil per 1000 miles?
Lastly how regularly would you experienced owners reccomend i change the oil, more frequently than the 6000mile services?
Thanks for your advice everyone

You should run in the engine for 2000-3000 miles more.
Also the oil changes should be done each 3000-3500 miles (not km ),with this oil that you use (on each oil change it's good to change and the oil filter as well, specially now that your engine is new).

Can anyone else shed any light on this as i am know concerned especially since i had the rev needle round to 6000rpm last knight through second and third to get a feel for it :-(

yes, i understand what you mean gadget9
Do not know why Castle TVR or any other dealer says that.
But through knowlege, and most Cerbera owners , when the engine parts are new, they need some miles to "fit" all the parts that are 'in touch' together. The oil helps a lot for that procedure.
When i say to "fit" together, i mean all the metalic parts that come in touch together, that's why the oil is,to reduce the friction between them and keep the temperature in low levels.
You do the first oil change because after 1000 most of these metalic parts (pistons,camshafts,conrods,ball-bearings,valves,finger followers, etc. etc...) have 'leave' their "residues" on the oil and the oil filter.
So be patient, and keep cool with the engine for 3000 more miles. After that, gradually increase the engine revs and enjoy

personaly, I wouldn't cain it all the time or do a track day, but the odd burst now and then should be good for the engine and help the bedding in process.

I would take it upto 5k till about 3000 miles like Byron says with the odd burst to 6k or a little moore.

After 3000 miles it's open season, and that is being conservative...

To be honest, if you're worried, call the factory. Why trust a random internet forum if you're worried? If you don't trust your dealer, find another.
