gadget9,
Nice colour though, just make sure you do the oil changes every certain miles, and do no forget to run in the engine for some more miles(3-4K) so you will not have problems on the future
Running in the engine is importnant.

ByronTVR, there is no need to reply to almost every single thread on the gassing station... especially if you don't have anything useful to say! In fact, the engine should only be run in for 2000 miles, not 5 to 6.

Thanks for the advice but i was told by castle TVR that once the car had done 1000miles and had the relevent service that the car could be driven hard through the rev range is this not the case then?
Also can anyone advise me on how true it is that the cerbera 4.5 once having had the 1000 mile service as mine has the oil is replaced with 15-40 semi synth mobil oil, until it has had its 6000 mile service where it then has mobil 1 fully synth oil.Is it true that the car is expected to use 1ltr of oil per 1000 miles?
Lastly how regularly would you experienced owners reccomend i change the oil, more frequently than the 6000mile services?
Thanks for your advice everyone

What do you mean dannylt ? i shouldn't partitipate anymore on the pistonheads forum?, why?
It wasn't a usefull advice to gadget9 to run in his new engine?

Cheers,
ByronTVR

P.S.: sorry i did confused the miles with km,...so it's 2000-3000 miles, but i do not think this the problem.

Do all new Cerberas come with those lights now, or were they an extra put on afterwards?

Quality, not quantity! As for your advice, it's often completely random.

Specifically, for running in TVR recommend going up to 4000rpm by 1000 miles, then up to max rpm by 2000. Then full power, always warming the engine properly first. Otherwise you run the risk of glazing the bores.

So no, quite often your advice is not useful, or is just an echo...

Ok then dannylt, i know that it is an often advice, i just wanted to inform gadget9 about, because he ask it.
He opened a new topic about that also!
Then why do we have this forum? we shouldn't share our opinions/thoughts ?
You should advice gadget9 also (wich you did)if you know more about this subject though...

Cheers anyway for your thoughts danny,

were did you find the 'joke' Alan?
I'm a member for 27 months and i've done 138 posts, same time as danny wich have made 452 posts, you have
'recently' (i'm not sure because you maybe watching the forum for years now) joined and done 79 posts. So who is doing the "useless" posts here?
Danny plz answer me,is this a 'black' joke or something that i haven't understood here? because i didn't find it funny...

Why do you guys reply to most threads on the forum? or there is any rule that says not to reply to all the threads on PH forum?
I just wanted to give an advice to gadget9 mates, is that so bad or something?

Cheers,
ByronTVR
