Do all Cerbera drivers have legs like Arnold Swartzernigger or is my 98 4.5 an exception. The clutch is that heavy i am now experiencing knee problems. Also i am finding the long travel accelerator unusual in that the first half travel causes progressive increases in the engines power however the second half travel does not seem to add much acceleration. ?

i use my car every day and find the clutch fine even in heavy stop start traffic a touch heavy compared to a fiesta, as for the accelerator the second half, WOW !!!!! so i assume there may be something wrong there

Most people find the clutch a bit heavy at first but rest assured if you drive it most days - which a car like a Cerb should - then you will soon forget it's heavy, even in bad traffic. If you use two cars then you will notice the heavy clutch more, like Mrs Darrent does...

As for the gas pedal - sounds like a problem??

Like most performance cars the clutch is heavy. I had a drive of a Diablo and there was just no way you would want to drive it in traffic. It has been quoted that the long travel on the accelerator has the effect of traction control ie it takes longer to get to full throttle!

Mine got much lighter when it was replaced, about 9 months ago. There was another thread here a while back on this, where it turned out not to be an uncommon experience.

Has anyone shortened the accelerator travel? If so what needs to be done?

cheers for the advice, I mainly use the car at weekends, so i will just have to get use to it. Getting the accelerator checked out; however, when i say the second half travel does'nt add as much acceleration as the first half, the first half makes up for it. My previous car was a Japanese twin turbo supra, it had a wicked kick down so it probably just the different manner in which the non turbo Cerbera puts its power down.

Good question I don't think ive managed to find full throttle yet, Foot just keeps going, recon id have to drive with my seat touching the steering wheel.
