Driving along at lunch time in my Cerb and I heard a 'ping' noise. Carried on but when I parked up a found a 1.5 (may be 1) inch bolt with 2 washers and a spring the length of the bolt in the drivers footwell. Had a good look around but can't find where it came from? Any ideas??

Worried because it's in the footwell that's it may have popped off a pedal or steering column etc...

Darren,
Had a similar experience in my Chimaera. Loud ping followed by a spring and couple of washers landing at my feet. Sounds daft I know but I searched for ages until realising it was the button and internal spring from my handbrake lever. The thread in the plastic button was worn and had given way. It fired off like a bullet!! Guess you would have noticed this when you parked but worth a check!

Cheers

Joolz,

Just had a good check, took the trim of the indicator stem and it's as loose as a lady of the night! How do I gain access to replace the bolt - is it a steering wheel off job??

Cheers
