On my 97 4.2 the warning light started flickering yet the pressure seems fine. Now seems to come on when idling. Noticed starting becoming sluggish ie starter motor turns slowly then picks up. Drivers door also mysteriously acting up - window drops but door doesn't open. Holding the button in and it works fine.
I suspect it is Alternator related although the charging light does not come on? Can these symptoms be related?- Anyone any clues?

The oil pressure guage is just an indication so i wouldn't take it that it is accurate ..... make sure the oil level is correct.

I've heared of the no-charge warning and oil pressure warning lights being cross-wired on Cerberas, so it may be you're seeing a no-charge warning, which ties in with the electrical problems you're seeing. Both warning lights normally come on when the engine is stopped and go off when it is running. One way to tell them apart is to rev the engine and then switch off: the no-charge warning light should be on while the engine spins down and go off as it stops; the oil light should stay off.

Hope this helps,
