I'm about to replace the Goodyear Eagles (original equipment) on my Speed 6- any suggestions whether there is a better tyre, and if so which?
Also, where is good in the Maidenhead area for reasonable price and good service?

Bracknell tyre and exhaust are the cheapest around and only 15 mins away from Maidenhead.

Are you the light blue cerb I saw a few times over the summer. If so I'm the purple one.

If you stick with the Eagles be sure to get the F1 GS-D3s and not the old D2s.

I have D3's fitted and, once scrubbed in, are fine - feel better than the original D2's and look cool to boot.

Thanks guys- I'll look out for the D3s. Any idea if they are available off the shelf nd what I should expect to pay/tyre?
By the way, I'm a dark blue Cerb based in Maidenhead- I'll look out for you- is it "Purple Paradise" purple?

That could be confusing.
I'm a dark blue Cerbera in Maidenhead too !

I use Pro Tyres on Slough industrial estate (by B&Q).
Got 2 new F1's fitted for £213.

However, they did inflate the tyres to 45psi and nearly killed me so make sure you check what there doing !

Thanks Bandit!
I'll take my own pressure guage. Do you live in the Furze Platt area? I'm in the College area of Maidenhead and have often seen another d.blue Cerb near the Esso station. Is that you?

Maybe theres 3 Cerbs! Used to be up around Furze Platt a lot last year as I played football up there.

I live down by Boulters Lock at the moment (and haven't been playing footy as my cruciate ligament has snapped !)

I've seen another Blue Speed Six parked down the rugby club a few times though....could be yourself perhaps ??

Paid £99 per wheel for D3's including fitting, balancing, new valve, etc at local Watlings. They also had them in stock.

They also tried to inflate them sufficient to get them airborne until I gave them the right pressures so beware.

Where are Watlings located? I notice you live in Kent, as do I, but I don't think I have seen your car?? Although I guess it is a big county!

I used the Watlings in Catford as it was close to work, plenty of others around though - just look in yellow pages or on their website.

Actually live near Tonbridge but as my engine is currently in Blackpool having valve blight removed not likely to see me around at the moment

Sorry to hear about the engine, how long until you get it back? Let me know when you do and we can meet up for a blast some time, as I live in Tunbridge Wells.

Engine went off a week a go on Wednesday and was told to expect at least a fortnight to get it back but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe I'll get a few miles on the engine before we meet up Then I'll drag Chaos along in his Tuscan as well.
