What is going on here??

Start the car up in the morning when cold... no problem.
Then after a drive, park up come back to start her up between 15 and 60 mins later and MIL light is on constantly with a long beep.. (not intermittent).. so leave it and come back again next morning.. then it starts fine..

Today i was really stuck.. and Cerbie wouldn't start in town so i got a couple of people to push... and hey.. it started with a jump start....

No warning lights come on when driving.. and everything seems ok.. any ideas on what the problem may be ??

Oh yes.. and this morning drivers footwell carpet soaked... is this a common problem or is it this individual car.. any comments or ideas would be a great help ..

when my car's footwell became a paddling pool (this wasn't a tvr though) it was because of faulty airconditioning or something.

Can't help with the MIL light. You leak on the otherhand sounds like water getting in between the brake master cylinder reservoir and the inner wing. Not too difficult to fix if you can remove the inner engine bay cover. The seal is formed, (or not), by silicone sealer, remove the old sealer and apply new.

I have heard the the door seal can leak aling the lower edge but I have not seen that, yet.

Hope you sort out the problem with the MIL light.

Mil light probably engine temperature sensor - if it fails you get a steady warning bleep and the light stays on. Sensor probably OK at cold then goes awol as water heats up. Not too expensive, and an easy diy job - just whip the old one out and stick the new one it - it's under the cover at the front of the engine bay screwed into a bit of pipe. It's the one with electrical connections. If you want to be sure, take the old one out and connect an ohmmeter across it, and put in water as you heat it up. Resistance should change as temperature rises.
