Coming out of a company car to an allowance and thinking of getting a Cerbera. I already have a Chimeara (98 450) but would like a hard top for day to day.

I don't want to give up the open top so my only choice is another car or 2nd TVR.

Worried about using the Cerb day to day, can I gut door dings, bird shit and it being outside (chimeara in garage).

Comments from day to day cerb drivers please.

i used mine everyday to and from work, i hope your company gives you a good allowance as the fuel will be bad enough never mind the 6K and 12k service intervals and the valve adjustment every 12K ...... yeah go for it

Hi

I use a 4.5 every day - bought it at 8000 and it's just turned 40,000. Touch wood seems OK - only problems are pedal related - clutch slave cylinder (which might have been a warning because the clutch went shortly afterwards)and the throttle pedal snapped off - a total one off. I love it but in day to day driving it can be really frustrating to have all that power and as soon as you get on the cam you've caught up with the bloke in front in his f reg Astra estate with a ladder on the roof!

I used my Speed6 day in, day out for seven months without any real issues. Then I looked at the running costs, including the accelerated depreciation with the mileage, and decided to get back on a bike for commuting.

If you can afford running costs of ~£1 per mile all in and have alternate transport for when it's being serviced (typically takes several days) then go for it.

Can be hardwork in traffic but well worth it the moment you get a bit of clear road
