just looking for a bit of advice...
got my first TVR today... Cerbera 4.2...
is the temperature going upto 95 -100 normal in traffic ??
any info on this would be appreciated...
thanks
Overtake it, get it up to cruising speed and it should drop down again. Thats why you have a Cerb isn't it?
That's about normal on my 4.2. Fan cuts in at 95. I did have a problem where the fan was running backwards so in slow traffic the fan cut in and tried to blow air out of the front of the car. @20mph I got no cooling. Just a simple wiring error at the fan connector.
The accuracy of these gauges are generally a tad suspect. From other threads it seems that getting to know what the car normally does, then noting variances is all you can really do.
For what it is worth.
I see ~70C on the open road 95 - 100 when stationary. Somewhere in between in slow traffic.

Seconded.
I had a lot of worry when mine went up that high and had it trailered back to TMS!!
They tested it and said it was fine, just the gauge was reading too high. Apparently if the fans cut in and out and the temp needle goes down when they cut in then it is usually ok. The gauges are just a guide.
My gauge sometimes 'flicks' up then back down which I was told was air in the cooling system. However TMS have said the gauge is faulty (which I think is more likely since it looks like an electrical fault).
So just make sure the colling system is bled (there was a thread on how to this recently) and that the fans cut in and you should be fine.
