21 MPG in a Cerb
Discussion
If I'm out and mixing driving enthusiastically from time to time with normal pootling about, I'll get about 20-21mpg. On long runs, I've had 27mpg out of it pretty regularly, and if I'm really really behaving I can inch it up a bit more, to 28/29. It has been freshly sorted by Chesterfield's finest engine mapper. I say it every time but Joolz is a genius,
The cerb is more economical than my big diesel van when I'm just pootling about from place to place. The van thinks I occasionally get 30mpg, but it isn't accurate, it's just a number on the display. Factor in the fuel price difference and fuel consumption, and sometimes it would be fractionally cheaper (pence) to take the TVR instead.
My guess is less weight to get shoved off the line and up to speed, easier freewheeling in top gear, less mechanical drag overall, much lower cd, all adding up to make it really not that bad.
Of course having a tear up I've been well down in to single figures

All the Europe trips I’ve done including several 3k mile round trips to the south of Spain have averaged between 24 and 25mpg, mostly cruising at 80ish. Also mapped by Joolz. The comparatively high gear ratio (eg 3200rpm at 80mph) is not great for economy, ICEs are most efficient under load. A sixth gear or lower final drive ratio would likely improve the mpg on those long journeys.
