The internal one is dead, the outside one works.
I've unplugged the control boxes, wiggled the connectors and put them back. No joy there. I don't want to take the door to bits as I bet it will start to leak, is there anything else I can check first?

TIA.

Taking the inner panel off the door will not make the car leak any more than it probably does already. But that is likely where the problem lies.

There is a connector that has probably got corrosion on that can be easily cleaned inside the door.

I have had a couple of connections gone bad inside of the drivers door. I agree with the previous post, problem is likely a connection or the switch, (you can get them from RS). Removing the inner door panel is easy, don't think you should worry about causing a leak.
