Yes for me too...
But your "for something" suggests to me that isn't something OEM at all.....not which I hoped for....
So I'll try to understand what this commands.
A question that may not be relevant but has a reason: how do you activate the heated windshield?

I can't guarantee it's the same - but mine has a rotary switch behind the steering wheel lower cover. I think it controls the fan speed forthe air conditioning, I'm not 100% because I only found it the other week.

Bingo!
Same place!
Should be the same.
Could you please make a picture when is it possible?
I assume we are speaking about the radiator fan speed. Correct?

Isn't it to adjust the gas temp at which the AC clutch engages when the aircon is on?

Mine is behind the cover, so I'll take it off when I get a sec. As far as I could tell, it controlled the heater fan speed, independant of the main controls on the left of the steering wheel.

I just scrubbed through my drivers handbook and don't see anything resembling that, so I'd agree it's not oem.

Easy to check.
Tomorrow I'll try to turn it while the main fan control is on max and let you know if something changes

Interesting.
It seems a bit complicated and a little useless but on a TVR everything is possible

It controls the temperature of the a/c, presumably by setting the max pressure of the refrigerant. Too cold and the evaporator can freeze up, apparently. I think it's quite sensitive, but I don't know which direction makes it colder. If you've been playing around with it you might want to put it back to a roughly central position in its range. It doesn't have a knob on the end.

Might explain why mine's hidden behind the cover then. It has the alloy knob, similar to the main one.
