PAS Pump pipes: The final stage...
Discussion
Hi Team,
It's been a long while BUT I'm still at it !
Having bored you many years ago with my less-than-efficient attempts to remove the PAS pipes, I have now progresed to the refitting stage
Biggest prob at the moment is (as usual) access.
From this pic, you can see that I have pushed the two pipes onto the Reservoir. Even though I had full access to the situation, I could only get the 16mm pipe on its lug by freezing the lug and boiling the pipe.
This possibilty will not be available to me at the Pump end.
Sooooo, what I need are some of those experienced ideas from geniuses, like yourselves, for suggesting how I get the pipe ends onto the PAS Pump.
Thanks for ALL your comments (stupid, funny or otherwise )
PJ

The high press connector will be a banjo - so that should be ok. The lp should just push on. Sometimes a bit of WD40 sprayed into the hose helps. Or soap, as suggested. Your main problem will be access and leverage, unless you have the exhaust headers off (which I suspect are all buttoned in place).

Hot air gun to soften the hose also helps….but don’t set fire to it

Well done Paul. Isn't it great when a job you're not looking forward to turns out so much easier than expected. It's usually the other way around.
Look forward to seeing pictures of you on the road soon. G.
Yes indeed, Gordon, I can only dream that the Banjo is going to be as easy Look forward to seeing pictures of you on the road soon. G.
Thanks for your wishes. It will certainly be a special moment when the rubber hits the tarmac again.
