What should I do with this flywheel ?
Discussion
Looking for some advice regarding damage to flywheel teeth. I hadn't experienced any starting problems up until tuesday evening when upon pressing the starter button it screeched, couple more presses and same thing, it never turned the engine over. Fortunately I was at home. Anyway, removed starter and found the flywheel teeth damaged as seen in the pic, I've rotated the crank by hand and this is the only damaged area.
Is this caused by the pinion clutch slipping in the starter ? If so would you just install a replacement starter or would you expect further problems with these damaged teeth? Wondering if I should also replace the flywheel?

If you haven’t had a problem before, it could be supply issue or worn starter.
I’d de-burr the flywheel check for burrs on the starter. The witness marks on the flywheel look close to the root of the flywheel teeth, but if it’s been working fine I would be looking at supply voltage checks first
