Waterproof boot switch replacement?
Discussion
Just removed my boot switch from the top right corner of the boot, as it had basically rusted to pieces with the UK rain and was no longer functioning to notify the alarm or turn the boot light switch off (*parasitic battery drain found though!)
From reading previous threads (and this one) it's a Rover / MG Rover interior door item so wondered if anyone had found an external weather friendly replacement item that could be used instead and won't perish again in the future like this one has?

You could either try to develop a reed switch solution or just replace with a new one which will last another 20 years.
Thanks FP and yes I came to the same conclusion this morning so bought a NOS one from eBay for £15 and will run that until it perishes like the current oneI did look at waterproof push switches but they are vertically activated so would require some faffing to fit and not quite sure I'm totally in the mood for that with a switch
