Jay Lenos garage and a Cerbera
Discussion
Very much a fanboy that fella in the TVR labelled shirt. He completely failed to make any mention of the fact that the huge number of engine warranty claims on the Speed Six engine (and lesser so the AJP V8) were a major contributing factor in the company's demise, of course it was just competition in a small market.
No mention of the Russian fella too, although he apparently did improve build quality towards the end. I didn't watch t al, did Les Edgar get a mention?
Jay Leno is suddenly looking quite elderly. Still like his style though.

He had an accident in his garage in November 2022 which left him with second and third-degree burns, and needed skin graft surgeries to his chest, hands and face.
Then he had a motorbike accident which left him with a broken collarbone, two broken ribs, and two cracked kneecaps.

The guy runs/owns TVR Garage who are selling TVRs in the USA now, so you don’t expect him to talk the cars down or talk about Russians I guess.
Overall it seemed like a decent video and Jay Leno seemed to like the car. Worth watching the whole thing.
Good advert for TVR in general.
He's posted on here last month after discussion about TVR's in the US and how some are heading out thereOverall it seemed like a decent video and Jay Leno seemed to like the car. Worth watching the whole thing.

And they are charging the earth for doing that. They only have 3 cars for sale. All Cerberas and all Arizona registered. The cheapest one is $63,500. That has 84K on the clock. That is about £51,200. There is another thread on here about the P885 KON Cerbera. Someone has spent £14K on repairs on that one and they are not even asking £30K for it, let alone over £50K, and it has 30 odd thousand miles, not 80 odd.
A new Corvette starts at $70K by comparison and is faster, handles better, comes with a 3 year warranty and with A/C that works. There are also nearly 3000 Chevy dealers.
And can you imagine buying a Cerbera and using it in Arizona, with it's A/C which is too weedy even for the UK. Can you imagine how poor that will be in Arizona? It's 28C in the middle of the night in July in Phoenix and 40+ every day June, July and August.
And if you don't live in Arizona, you have to get the car re-registered in the state in which you live. Not all states will pass a Cerbera as fit for registration, and how do you get it serviced or repaired if you live in Chicago - 1,750 miles away or Miami, 2,400 miles away?
Even Jay Leno noticed that the engine sounded rough. Leno didn't realise that the only car more unreliable than an old TVR is an old TVR in hot climate.

I'm not sure if I would've trusted my Cerbera to get me around the block...nevermind 2400 miles! All joking aside...I did do 18k miles in it in fairness over 6 years. However I might have done even more if it hadn't been off the road for 9 months being fixed as well!
By the way...the A/C was crap in mine too!
I still loved it warts and all though.
How far was your local dealer/TVR specialist though? Probably not 2,000 miles away! They are selling the world's most unreliable car in the most demanding consumer nation on earth. They have more lemon laws than most people have had lemons in their life! There are 5 different models of Toyota and 3 Honda models in the top 20 best selling cars in the USA for a reason.
And how do you make a warranty claim when you are 2,000 miles away? Do they fly out to you? Do you hire a U-Haul car carrier and drive it back to them?
It is going to be a frustrating thing to own in the US. And it's almost inevitable that some disappointed customer is going to sue the dealer, and some crazy US jury will award compensation of $300 millon for disappointment.

Yeah right. Just like Arizona. Car manufacturers routinely test cars in Arizona for a reason. TVR's test route was Blackpool to Clitheroe and back.
Have you ever been to Arizona? You really think that the car made from the most glue in the world won't have a melting dashboard or parts unbonding from the heat soak? There are so many threads on here about poor A/C. You really think that the standard 90's A/C will cope with that heat soak?
The first thing to do will be to take the car to Restomod Air and get a modern system for classic cars put in.

LucyP, your utter misery shines through on every post, and goes against the opinion of the actual people who own these cars. My Cerbera will have been with me for 20 years this May, and many owners come back, owning TVR, after TVR.
What drives you to make these posts?
That video is a joy, a Cerbera is worth the money just on looks alone imo.
