Looking at the diagram, theres a 68ohm(?) resistor that should be present (on the branch highlighted red).



Someone has replaced the door button with a non-illuminated button and butchered the loom a little.

Would it be obvious if the resistor were still present?



NB. ignore the fact that the button had been wired incorrectly, ie earths joined together rather than to the button(!), that's since been resolved and the button works fine. Just want to get the correct illuminated type back in there.

Try unplugging both ends and use a resistance meter to read 680 ohms on the red line, probably being used as a dropper resistor to reduce the voltage to the Led smile
