Took delivery of my first TVR recently. Really pleased thus far, although the weather is restricting my enjoyment somewhat.

Definitely a 'drivers car' and I continue to look for excuses to take it out for a run.

In typical TVR fashion I already have a snagging list that will need working through:

- Main beam dash light not working
- Intermittent wiper speed start / stop
- Rear right brake bad loose / rattling
- Front right spot light / bulb not working
- Boot release (badge) intermittent

Any recommendations of a local specialists to North Shropshire is appreciated. From what I've read the issues seem very common to Cerbera ownership.

Hope the pics work....

Lovely looking Cerbera.

I’m on the North Shropshire and Cheshire border and you’ll not find better than Sportmotive in Stoke On Trent.

I helped this guy with tools and parts to fix a coolant leak at Spa

He gave me some PAX laps afterwards, and showed me how a four wheel drift works at the crest of Raidillon

I doubt I could do that in the Cerb, but that's probably more down to the driver than the car

How would you compare the Cerb with an M12?

Ironically I had an undiagnosed expansion tank leak at the time, so I didn't do too many laps myself as I thought I had headgasket issues

There are anti rattle springs for the CP5111, I've given up trying to find a link

They are shared with Lotus, although TVR use split pins to locate the pads so the calipers are not identical

Thanks for all the recommendations. Sportmotive was also recommended to me today at a cars and coffee run. Will drop them a line.

I had my M12 some 10+yrs ago so it's hard to make any meaningful comparison. What I will say is the way forward is definitely backwards for me with cars at the moment. The late nineties and early 2000's being a sweet spot.

--Iirc I was able to resolve mine with a bit of poking around, think i was just corrosion. Can't remember if it was soldered to the board, but I don't remember getting that involved.

- Intermittent wiper speed start / stop
--Try changing or cleaning the contacts in the park switch. I thought my wiper motor had failed, but ended up taking the park switch apart and cleaning it up. All sorted after that. Faff to get to however.

- Boot release (badge) intermittent
--Had this issue on both of mine, resolved it by soldering in a new button and adjusting the badge tension.

Wow, my memory is terrible!

The Lotus pins/springs don't work at all!

You do need the TVR CP5111 variant

Also worth checking that the PO has fitted the front springs the right way round, which explained why mine was so squealy when I bought it

Also check for the 'old cure' which used to be some silicone sealant on the back of the pads to glue them to the pots! Never lasted long

From what I can tell it was sold to previous owner in 2005 with A3 JAY as per sales invoice and mag cut out on file. It looks to have reverted to Y809 NAY sometime after and before it's current reg number. I believe it's a LW version but still trying to hunt down what exactly these changes were and whether my car has them.

Car has now covered 24k miles

Not mine then - Y200MPH had a magnolia and Pacific Blue interior and had covered nearly 29,000 miles when I sold it in October 2004.

Enjoy yours - they are fantastic fun. driving

Thanks for the welcome!

Not sure I have the confidence or ability to get my hands dirty but certainly appreciate all the time and effort you must have gone to with documenting your experiences.

I'm committed to not letting any niggles ruin my relationship with my first TVR.
