Steering wheel ribbon

What’s the procedure for setting the ribbon in the boss so it stays slack lock to lock. I did it last year but I’ve forgotten and my searches on here were fruitless.

The way I've done it is to fully wind the ribbon, back off three complete turns, then rewind one turn for the centre position

I used a blob of double sided carpet tape as well so it didn't flex again at the plug. Thats where mine broke last time.

I don’t think it will do it again now I’ve rerouted the ribbon, I also bent the micro switch connector so it won’t touch. I’ll keep my eye on it and tape it if it moves again.
