rear light covers

has anyone had experience buying new rear light covers. i'm going to have the car fully painted,i've got the zertec rear lights,but want to remove the light covers to blend in the afterburners and make a good job of the paint.then at the end of the job fit new covers instead of the old slightly tatty ones. i wondered how much etc?

You can get the outer lense covers from your dealer, their about £50 squid, the body shop will have to shape them the your car as there all slightly different, then you just mastic them on. it may be a good idea to run mastic around the back of the actual light units i.e pull the carpet away and apply from the inside, this stops the covers fogging over from the inside during the winter.
