Hello
Whilst pulling onto the motorway in 3rd, rpm at 6000 the engine shut down, oil pressure gauge continued to show 35 psi, no MIL light and no other lights. After approx 10 seconds coasting along the engine started up again and I headed for home keeping below 3000 rpm without issue. I may have inadvertantly jump started it to get going again but not sure as it was a bit of a shock. The engine was warm and I had been driving along at 120 kmh for 10 minutes.
Speed 6 engine, no recent issues with the engine. 2 weeks ago the car shut up shop in the garage and refused to react to the key fob being pressed. I had to get in the other way which set the alarm off, disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and reconnecting seemed to work and no issues since.
Any pointers to the possible reason for the engine shutdown gratefully received.
Cheers
Martin.

Hello, thank you for your reply
Immobilizer and alarm are 2 years old, Carl Baker sent me them and I installed per his instructions.
Need to sort out a windows computer and associated connections of which I am sure there is enough info on these here already. Not sure if the software runs on OS X!
Cheers
Martin.

Not sure if the Tuscan has the same tank / fuel pump set up as the Tam but this might be useful.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

There's a link in the thread to the start of my issues in 2017ish.

Basically, the [surprise surprise) TVR wiring to the tank plate, choice of tank plate plug, internal tank wiring and hose connections are terrible. Poor arrangement, undersized cables and short hose unions.

Pump relay could also be on the way out but I would check out the pump etc ..

Really sounds like an imobiliser issue. Mine did this when it failed, once in the outside lane of the M4 in rush hours...

Fix until I got it replaced was to disconnect the battery for a while and reconnect...

It all sounds very familiar

I had the same a few years ago, it was the main battery earth loose down near the near side front wheel. The ECU was losing its earth briefly and then getting a connection back.

Are you still 'running' the strip main fuses? These breakdown over time and cause issue. They look fine to the eye but aren't.

Swap to midi style fuses while your chasing round the wiring. Don't know how many there are in the Cerb but in the T cars there are three.

Got midi 125a installed.
Have cleaned up the earth contacts and till now no further issues, although haven't been out for long as the weathers crap.
Thanks for all the suggestions, if it happens again i have some ideas for further t/s
