Good evening, the wheel studs on the drivers side are "clanking" against the hub, also happening with the wheel on.
I can hear the clank at low speeds when braking.
Can anyone offer a remedy or tell me what is going on here?

Cheers in advance
Martin

They can't clank when driving unless your wheel is loose.

Your pads may be binding a little though. Hence the disc dragging.

It's not the studs when the wheel is on and tight though.

That is what I thought, the wheels are all torqued so aren't loose. So this one "clank" when braking is possibly to do with the brakes?

Thanks for your reply

Check your pads aren't loose.

Then, front drag link bushes would be my first place to investigate.

What’s the best cure for rattling pads mentioned in this thread. Mine make a hell of a racket.

It is normally the rear pads that rattle and these fix it.

If it is the front that are rattling fit this to the back of the pads.

Although the front and rear clips looks roughly the same, it's important to realise that the rear clips are fitted 'as shown' in the photos, and the fronts are fitted with the centre pressing against the pads, which looks like the reverse of the rears

Yes it was the brake pads, funnily enough the rear ones although sitting in the car I could have sworn it was the front ones.

Front vs Rear rattle clip orientation

When I bought the car the fronts were fitted incorrectly and the rears were missing

No wonder the brakes were noisy
