Hi guys,

I am in the process of finishing off the restoration of the Cerb. Bleeding is not a success....

I have got a new master cilinder. Brake lines are new. I did have a few leaks in the couplings of the brake lines which should now be fixed. I can push fluid through the rear brakes, but at the front I cannot push fluid through by pushing the brake pedal. I have a vacuum bleeder. When I put the vacuum on I get some fluid through and a lot of bubbles. But it is a never ending story. What worries me is that when I push the brake pedal, nothing really happens....

Calipers have been repainted and partially new cilinders. All new sealings in the calipers.

Could it be that the master cilinder has 2 sealings/cups and 1 of them is gone?

Dave.

Have you greased up the bleed nipples to prevent sucking air in?

Have you tried gravity bleeding?

I did put on some copper grease a while ago when I refurbished them. But I did see fluid coming out underneath one or 2 nipples....

Red rubber or thick silicone grease works best, needs to be 'sticky'.

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before installing it?
If so, try pressure bleeding with something like a Motive pressure bleeder. Where i've had problems bleeding brakes, pressure bleeding has usually worked.

Hi, I did not bench bleed the master before install. The reservoir also needs to be pushed on after the master cilinder is mounted. Is it really needed?

Never done that, how do you do it?

Easier than trying to describe it...
