Would it be areaaly bad idea to get a cerbie without a garage? Apart from the angst of it being 'keyed' would it not do its health much good sitting in the cold and wet, or is it just like any other car?

If you're going to leave a TVR outside then the Cerbera's probably the best one suited for the conditions.

...it's fixed roof means that it shouldn't leak !

I leave mine outside and haven't had any problems over the last two years.

They can still leak though, I guess if you fix them up asap as they appear you'd be ok. Why not get a lock up close to your house? That's what I do in London.

My boot has suddenly decided to become porous after 2.5 years...

I had mine sitting outside for 2 years, only putting a cover over it when it got really cold to stop the build up of too much frost/ice/snow. As long as the battery had some juice it never failed to start when cold.

I think Loot has ads for them? Local paper shops have ads in the windows?

Try Dudrich Holdings on 020 8882 8577, and give them your postcode. They tend to have stuff clumped all over london.

Made sod all difference for me whether I had it on street or in a lock up - the london loading swamps everything else.

Was around 2700 with Privilege last year, now 1700 with Sunninghill. 26, six points. Sunninghill are great - they didn't load the premium for all the modifications.

Ouch - expensive. Mine is £780 in Oxfordshire, protected NCB. Thats with 2 SP50's - one a fixed penalty, the other a 7 day ban (over 100 mph). Mind you, I'm an old b****r of 48 with no claims for 20 years so that probably helps. It's with Norwich Union by the way obtained through Cheam Insurance (now part of Hill House Hammond). They have always been exceptional at tracking down the best deal. I seem to change companies every year as they have a very wide database. By the way, without the SP50's I'd be under £600
