I have a couple Questions if someone could help me

1, When i turn the factory alarm on it doesn't always lock the doors, sometimes it does and i will do the same again and then it don't lock

2, when braking from about 70mph the speedo drops faster then my speed and then picks up again

Hello,

I am a fairly new owner (3 months - but 5k since!)

I had alarm probs similar to yours just recently. I found that unplugging the alarm (in the back above the fuel tank) for a few mins sorted the condition short term (it resets itself). I had some useful advice from other threads on this forum - if you do a search you fill find them.

The alarm / door locking problem got worse and a new alarm control box was needed - and it is fine now. Not sure how much they are.

Apparently the speedo's / dials are a bit erratic - just one of those niggles that you maybe have to live with (or get it replaced and then live with it). My guages seem 'a bit sticky' until the car is up to temp.

A standard warranty should cover these probs if you have one.

Have fun and fly the flag.

Tony

So, having looked at your profile are you now the 'big cheese' in the BHP club?

I reckon once you catch second gear (i.e control the spin) you'll cream those other motors in the BHP club?

www.BHPclub.co.uk says: As time goes on, being a member of the BHP Performance Car Club will be a benchmark recognized everywhere showing everyone you have class, and that you drive a vehicle that has the BHP factor. Beauty, Handling, Performance

Very ambitious.....how many members have you got?

Best of look with the Cerby….more fun than anyone is entightled to. If it hasn’t got a sports exhaust…..get one quickly!

I would have to agree on that last comment about the sports exhaust. I had a super sports exhaust fitted by Richard Thorpe RT Racing in Sheffield. The man is a genious. It has brought new life to my Chimaera and bangs crackles and pops like every TVR should. I curse myself for waiting a year before putting it on. Congratulations on the arival of your new Cerbera. I have the same thing in mind, trading in my Chimaera for a 4.5 Cerbera preferably Blue or Purple but i saw a Viola Cerbera in the Parade de Pilotes at Le Mans which was very nice 200mph i think the plate was. Would everyone agree that the Cerbera is going make me grin harder than the Chimaera 400? S3TAY

I haven't driven a Chimaera myself but the Cerbera is like nothing else i have driven great fun and great looks its in a league of it's own i can see me keeping mine for a long time cos i don't know anything else out there that goes as well, sounds so nice and looks so good for around the 20k price tag

Cerbera is definitely a bigger grin than the Chimaera!

Cerb dials & gauges seem to work the same as my local builder in providing only a rough(very) estimate.

Maybe the alarm is not sensing that your door is closed. Try adjusting the door sensor.

Sounds like your speedo pickup needs to be tweaked.

How close are you to Joolz (www.joospeed.net)? He can sort your problems out and do it very cheaply too.

Also, you might want to download my "manual" from www.tvrfreak.com.

Rgds,
Faisal.
