Can someone please tell me what pipe 'A' is? I'm assuming it is an oil breather pipe.

If so then if clip 'B' was missing then I'd probably get the odd whiff of oil when I got out of the car after a hard run? Right??

Just interested as I noticed last night that clip 'B' was in fact missing and I have been getting the odd oily smell, I shoved a new clip on today and the pipe was a bit oily.

If it is not a breather pipe then WTF is it?

Yes you are quite right that is the oil breather pipe that runs from the o/s head into the bottom of the o/s air box. You could get the odd oily whiff from there without a clip but I would make sure that the 'sump' in the air box that this pipe runs to is fully intact also. I hope this helps.

Well I took the car out last night for a bit of a run and I'm pleased to say there was not even the slightest whiff of oil. A mate came along, he is on the point of buying a Porsche 996, well he was we spent the next three hours in the pub discussing the merits of each (in a Flasher and Benno sort of way).
