I've been a Cerbie owner for a week and am loving it, however in typical girlie style I seem to have broken the drivers door lock and the door won't shut. I've tried setting and resetting the alarm, pulling the door release etc, but the locking mechanism just won't spring open. The passenger side is fine. Any ideas?....

do you mean the cables pull and the solonoid clunks but the swinging part of teh latch is stuck in the closed position? .. it shouod move if you operate the button release whilst trying to move the swinging latch part to open with a screwdriver or similar. Sometimes the little hairspring inside (which is supposed to keep the swinging latch up for when you close the door) breaks and the latch drops back into teh closed position as soon as the door opens - then when you try to close the door it bangs against the closed latch. If you want it to work until you get it to your dealer try pushing lots of really thick grease into the latch so it holds it up when you open the door like the spring should be doing. hope that makes sense.

Yes - that's exactly what I mean! I've looked and it is teh hairspring that's broken. Thanx for the trick with the grease! Cheers.
