Have been looking at GPS speed camera detectors ( www.morpheous.co.uk ) Uses GPS technology to pinpoint your car and camera's and give you ample warning. Do they work, any hidden catches or costs? I'm back to zero points and want to stay that way!

Yep, they work. Helpful to have a radar detector too though.

Have fitted Geodysy Plus in my Chimaera and find it excellent. Probably paid for itself already. Also have a Snooper fitted for police guns

I'm a confirmed Origin Blue-i nut, and I've infected most of my jolly chums. It is a good idea to supplement with a radar detector though.

The only one that will do everything and very well is a Valentine - yes they are expensive but so is losing your licence so for another £300 on top of the best that Bel etc can do I'd go 4 the Valentine - works for me....

It must be a nuisance removing these units from the car every time you leave it though, to stop someone stealing them.

Thanks guys - so we are all agreed they will keep plod off our backs, now its time to buy! Geodesy want £ 400 for the Geodesy plus and for a mere £ 300 extra they will throw in a radar detector (costs as usual reduced by customary £ 1 to make us think we are getting a bargain!). So where can I get a better deal??? Shops/ web pages etc all appreciated (Make not important to me so long as it does the job).

In the US they are yes- the Valentine is $400 or around £599 quid here - but with the jammer and all the other whistles I spent a little more...(could buy the US one and ship it but we do have different bands over here compared to the US - your choice...with these new cameras coming we will all be buggered soon anyway - unless we put rocket launchers where the indicators are and take the cameras out as we go...

By the way, I'm thinking of starting a new political party called the speed party. The sole agenda will be to remove camera's. I'm convinced half the population would vote for it - the other half would think 'speed' was a dubious substance well worth voting for...hey presto bye bye gun toting blair et al......Maybe Pistonheads should be the official party website!

The Valentine's sold in the UK are identical to the US ones. The different bands thing is FUD spread by the revendors (fear, uncertainty, doubt). They do go off due to supermarket doors/gas stations on the X band, but you can disable that. Or live with it.
