Iam trying to persuade my new company to let me get a Cerbera 4.2 on the fuel card. I can not find any figures for fuel consuumption. Has anyone got a magazine article tha shows the average to be over 22mpg. If so can you email me a scan or tell me which mag so I can get a reprint. Any other suggestions on how to prove MPG would be great . Cheers Grant_Gibson@3com.com

Won't they accept the official fuel consumption figures? Surely these are independant and give a reasonable guide. Sparks

They would be, but I have not got anything in writing to prove them. Rang a main dealer and they did not have anything 'on paper' Cheers G Edited by Grant on Thursday 14th June 14:56 Edited by Grant on Thursday 14th June 14:56

Grant, I've got an Autocar mag at home somewhere that's got a 4.2 test with fuel consumption in. I'll try and dig it out and scan for you. Don't know if it was over 22mpg though! Cheers, Graham PS. I 'managed' to get a fuel card for my Griff 500.

What mpg do they expect? I get 21 mpg from my Volvo V70 T5 - you may be surprised at how low the actual mpg from most exec type saloons actually is. Makes 22 from the Cerbera seek reasonable eh! R...

Don't expect much at all, But to please the company bods I have to show them a bit of paper saying 22 or above. Evo states 26 for the Cerbera in some of it older editions. So If I can swing it..... Edited by Grant on Friday 15th June 11:10

Sorry Grant, I didn't get a chance to look last night. Will do this weekend. I was very lucky with my fuel card - had visions of being laughed out of court when I told them it was a 5 litre. Luckily theres no minimum MPG, it's at your managers discretion here... Graham Edited by Graham B on Friday 15th June 16:49

I've dug out an old copy of Autocar with the 4.2 roadtest. It's not good news (surprisingly low figures): Urban: 11.3mpg Extra Urban: 25.1mpg Combined: 17.3mpg Tell 'em you only do extra urban. Mike.
