WARRANTY & INDEPENDANT SERVICING
Discussion
I need a bit of advice from you chaps.
I have a Warranty Holdings TVR 2 year warranty from Furnhurst for my 1998 4.5 Cerbera. To accord with the warranty, I have to have it serviced at the usual intervals but it does'nt say by who!
I would prefer to have my servicing done by an independant specialist than a main dealer ( for a number of reasons ).
Now the question is this, would independant servicing invalidate the warranty, i dont think it would & certainly the chaps at Fernhurst agree with me.
Does anyone have any experience of such things?

Joolz is right they are the terms and conditions on the Warranty.
Having looked at this myself the dealer seems to have a key role in getting the claim through warranty holdings. After all, they diagnose the problem and asses whether it is wear or failure. Having them on-side should help you to make a claim. Also, they are the guys that sell the warranties so WH has to put some faith in them/their customers.
I'm not saying where you should get your car serviced
(there are arguments for both) but just keep this in mind if you hold a warranty.

Joolz should be VAT registered soon, I believe, and yes he does do Chimaeras as well as Cerbs, but the man, he say "I spit on your speed six engines".
In all seriousness, check out his website www.joospeed.net - he does anything from Griff onwards, but has strong opinions on Tuscans and anything else with a SP6 in it......

the only thing thay usually say is the garage has to be vat ergistered which I guess means they'ev been in business a while and have a goodly turnover so liklely to be reputable?
Is it not more to do with the warranty company minimising their outlay on parts costs as the garage can then claim back the VAT element?

Can Joolz confirm roughly when he will be VAT registered, as I am in the same boat.
within the next couple of months at this rate, been delaying cos of the extra paperwork etc .. I don't get enough hours in the day as it is without extra red tape .. turnover thresh-hold is about 54k I think, but hopefully my accountant is keeping an eye on things for me in that dept.
