I’m new to this forum lark – but wish I’d found you guys a while back. I'm also a relatively new boy to the Cerbera 4.5, but then you’re never too old to start wetting the bed.

So, I’ll get the stupid questions out of the rack first if anyone can help…

1. Any simple way to stop the tiny sun visors dropping down to obscure the tiny windscreen – I can’t see any nut/bolts or other adjuster?

2. ECU. I’m doing a nice wedge of motorway miles. Does anyone have a view on whether this ‘tames’ the ECU to be less giving when you want even more sport?

Not big questions, just fancied popping the cherry. This car makes my day. Every day.

Cheers

Hi Simon,

Great choice of motor (also have a 4.5). 14 months later and still exploring the performance envelope, I can't see myself ever getting bored.

Cannot answer your question regarding the ECU, but no doubt one of the more experienced members will shed some light. As for the sun visors, I can only guess you have been driving a bit fiercely

Cheers

Dan

P.S. When you get a chance, can you post a pic of the car - would like to see how the privacy tinted glass looks on the Cerb.

sunvisors .. take them out and wear sunglasses? .. you can bend them off the pins at the end (forget the sound of distressed fibreglass)
ECU .. no that's a myth.

Thanks very much. I think I'm going to like this message board stuff. At last something to pass those valuable moments between work, cyber-filth and the glorious roar home.

Cheers.

Ooops spotted!

Yeah that's mine. It was also mine for sale in Top Marque when I had massive buyers remorse and in a panic threw it up for sale! I then get folks phoning up and turned them away. Don't ask. It's a tough love.

See you on the streets...

It looks a good car. Stick with it. Andy at APM is great and will help you keep it on the road for a reasonable sum.
I even popped in the other day to ask him to check my oil level (pathetic I know) - not the sort of service I would get at a dealer.

Spot on. Andy was extremely good to me - when I suffered some beginner’s luck i.e. 3 roadsides in 4 weeks (Oil/Breather then Alternator fuse then Clutch). However since that point it has bedded in and all is totally A1.

It's is interesting viewing all the entries on this site - it feels as if you almost need to 'mature' into a TVR and eventually you just make that shift from your expectations as traditional 'Production Car' owner to being part of something far more aesthetic and unique. Sounds flaky and probably is.

Either way - think I'll pop out and spin her round in circles 'til Pub Time.

Cheers

Yes you need to learn to chill to own a TVR.
Your clutch will have cost ya a bit but then that is sorted for another 20K miles now.
Have you had yours decatted yet?!?! Do it!

ps I just had my engine rebuilt - I am not that bothered. Cost me lots of dosh BUT sh*t happens. I cant afford to burn money but I want a cerbera. Sometimes you gotta chill, not worry about it and move on.
Its all worth it - when I drove through Guildford the other day popping and banging , stopped at the traffic lights and a girl with some friends turned to me and said 'what a w@nker' I knew it wasnt all in vain!

lol.

I guess yours was the beauty under the knife at Andy's? I didn't actually need a clutch, it was just the linkage, but of course the gearbox etc had to come out.

Likewise, I was accused of being 'something' the other day as I meandered my way through town. I’d like to be more specific, but to be honest the cacophony of bangs, farts, wheezes and all manner of other acoustic celebrations jumping out of my pipes - clear took my mind of it.

Hi, sorry I'm a bit slow (as usual - and no comments about Combe please) but was that you at Andy's Saturday before last when I was in getting a lambda sensor replaced (Dark blue 4.5 - your comment, "I wanted that colour").

If so, it was a pleasure to meet you and I think I may also have spotted you going North up the A33/M3 just south of Winchester last Friday after lunch?

There is no hiding place.

Hi Mark

Sorry - wasnt me Guv. I'm a discreet Zircon Silver 4.5 with Silver Tusan Spiders and rather Dark Glass. That said I do buzz the M27/M3/A30/A33 every day and have seen a rather nice Blue Cerbera en route a couple of times.

Happy Days !
