Mornin' all. Hope we all had a mad weekend blasting about in the sun (and on a Bank Holiday as well?).

I am now getting fed up with the poor attempt at music that the In car hifi is giving me and would like to change a few things.

I have a '96 4.2 which has the "centre" speaker, but it doesn't seem all that willing to be removed Rather than pulling it really hard, I thought I would check with you guys for any experiences before I rip out the wiring loom by mistake

Does anyone have any experiences?

you should be able to take off the grill and then the screws are clearly visible, mine came out dead easy.

Bummer.

Found the screws, and tried to undo them, but they didn't seem to be holding on to anything.

I think it may have been glued. (Bursts into "There may be trouble ahead").

take out the head unit and you should be able to get your hand up through the space and behind the speaker to help shift it.

Sorry to bother you guys again. It also so happens that of the two door mounted tweeters, only one is working.

How the do you remove them?

Just another two or three weeks and I should be able to hear the music I am playing in the car.

If you take the inner door panel off, you can get to four nuts which hold the circular collar that secures the tweeter in place. You will not be able to remove the tweeter without cutting the wires, but you will be able to repair once the collar is removed.

Cheers Chris.

I know I have seen the way to get the door panels off on another thread, so I might have to have a go.
