Changed S2 for Cerbera - Cerbera advise please
Discussion
Have just sold S2 and purchased an S reg 4.5 Cerbera, advise received so far on Cerbie is: Check oil regularly, Speed camera's come at you quicker, Try to avoid silly looking grin, go slow in the wet, Keep rev's below 2000 until warmed use and use Shell Optimax. Is above correct and any more advise gratefully accepted. Car is fitted with SO2's on 18" Spiders - is correct pressure 2.4 bar? Thanks to Rob Ingleby and Joospeed for help with purchase.

After you've had some fun, and you put the car in reverse gear for the journey home, don't forget to first slot it into 5th, before putting in reverse, to avoid nasty gearbox graunching sounds.
Admittedly not a Cerbera but I spent about a year briefly engaging 5th before reverse on a Chimaera. Found I then couldn't change quickly from 4th to 5th without a crunch that made yer skin crawl. Maybe not related but I'm not convinced and stopped doing it. Anybody else had a similar experience? Personally now think it is better to take yer time engaging reverse.

5 years and 20,000 miles in my Cerbie engaging 5th before reverse hasn't caused any untoward gear-changing problems. Don't think I could stop now if I wanted to - force of habit!
Wonderful colour for a Noble, Martvr. Are you still waiting for delivery, or is the picture of yours?
Thanks for the info, interesting. I'd done about 14,000 miles before I noticed the crunching.
Also thanks for the comment on the Noble colour. Yes, it is a picture of my car taken while waiting final assembly in the factory at Barwell. Off to visit tomorrow to see progress and hopefully it'll be mine in 2 or 3 weeks time. Can't wait
See you're in Madrid, they must get a bit of a surprise when they see the Cerbie. Great city, I spent a couple of years there and always enjoy going back.
As you say, the Cerbera creates quite a stir in Madrid - nor many here have seen anything like it. I once saw a Chimaera, and have heard reports of another in the city. Otherwise, any other TVRs are probably down on the Costas. I often receive shouted favourable comments or thumbs up from drivers - most just want to see me gun it. I'm happy to oblige.
The Noble intrigues me. I'd love to get a feel for the handling. I'm sorely tempted to take a test drive next time I'm back in blighty. We'll see... Hope you enjoy yours.
