Replacement Windscreens
Discussion
About a year ago I had mine changed by RAC Autowindscreens in Luton. They got a screen the next day - when they got it they phoned and told me it had a slight blemish in the glass so they got a relacement and that arrived the day after that. They didn't seem to have trouble getting them then. Also, because I was a bit concerned about the job being done perfectly they were quite happy for me to stand there and watch them do the work. Took them a couple of hours to do the job, but I left the car with them overnight to let the seal cure. They were excellent and did a really good job - it also got rid of the millky edge you often see round a lot of TVR windscreens. Highly recommended.

Just what is that milky edge - and how is it caused? I have 2 patches on my screen like that.
Check you windscreen surround rubber. It may need resealing. It won't cure the milkiness you have already but should slow down its gradual creep into your area of vision. I used silcone sealant (get the stuff anywahere - Halfords etc) on mine. Get it done sooner rather than later!

Thanks for the advice - did just that and found the rubber to be split in 2 or 3 places. Handy stuff, silicon. Checked the rear screen as well and found similar degradation, albeit in only one spot.

Just found out that replacement windscreens from TVR will be available in 2nd week of September (having taken the car in 6 weeks ago!) That's what I call service?!!
Sounds about right I waited 6 weeks for a replacement screen for my Chimaera - something to do with the factory not stock piling any more!
