Just had my car serviced and 150 squid for a set of front pads on a 99 Speed 6 Cerby, bl**dy h*ll didn't realise that 4 bits of shaped metal with some fibrey stuff attached could cost so much !"~$%^£

Doesnt sound good to me, Joolz said that he can supply Mintex pads for under 70 quid.

I am assuming that the Sd6 has same calipers as 4.2, although double money seems extreme for anything.

Just put a set of red stuff pads on my 4.2 - 64.62 for the front and 37.02 for the rears.

Sounds like somebody has made a healthy profit - how about Red Stuff for £40.49 & £26.37?

did you know that the rear pads are identical to Austin Rover Mini Cooper front pads? £15! and no they are not inferior.

Dunno about the fronts - still working on that.

That being said, green or red stuff are going to give more bite and apparently the new versions last longer too.

the front pads are jaguar xj220 .. try asking the price of those .. teehee. but most of the brake manufacturers do a pad that fits the 4 pot AP caliper, choose one that suits your driving style.

Why Joolz, do they come perforated on a roll?

Dealers will probably fit AP pads unless specifically requested by you to do otherwise - and yes, they are mega expensive, hence everyone trying alternatives.

The thing to do though is always make sure you've got the same compound front and rear. Don't put Red Stuffs on the front (which need warming up) and Mintex's on the back (which don't) and then end up with your locked up rear trying to overtake the front. There won't just be skidmarks on the road!
