I've got a 99 4.2 and have just bought a new battery and am now trying to fit the thing
I've got the 5 allen key bolts out of the black plastic air manifolds, but I can't move it easily so I can remove the battery.

Does anyone know which way you slide or push the black 'thing'?

Any help would bemost appreciated !

Thanks, Jason

If you've removed all the bolts, then it should pull straight off from memory, although the joint has sealer around it and this may be the resistance you can feel.
For some detailed instructions, together with lots of other useful information, see www.tvrfreak.com and look at Faisal Khan's Cerbera Guide.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Barry - finally got the thing off and changed the battery - unfortunately a very short narrow little rubber tube that was attached to the air filter and disappears somewhere into the back of the engine bay snapped - it was so short I couldn't actually move the air filter in any useful direction - suppose I'll have to visit the dealers now anyway...

don't bother visiting the dealer, it's only the air pressure sensor pipe .. just drill or file the air box so the pipe is a push fit into it and that'll do just fine.
