Simon,

Good to have you along. You've chosen a good day for your first outing. The track is of good quality and you should be amongst some courteous drivers which makes a big difference.

There are a couple of guys coming who race regularly who will be able to give you some tips regarding technique.

Other than that, it's common sense. Start slowly and build up your confidence. There will be plenty of time on the day (it won't be run in sessions) so you'll be able to nip out for ten minutes, come in and reflect on things and then nip out again when you're ready.

Take passenger rides with other people and observe their techniques (good and bad!).

The car should be ok as it's not a circuit that's too hard on brakes etc. but make sure your brakes are in good nick nevertheless. Similarly for tyres. And make sure you have European breakdown cover.

There's an FAQ on the Bookatrack site at www.bookatrack.com/isapi/bat.dll?2&broc&a&b&c&3 (but it's not showing at the moment - I'll get onto them).
