Clutch Problem

pulled up on the drive tonight no problem went out to put the car away clutch peddle goes to the floor and cant engage any gear.Looked inside the owners manual this tells me that the resevoir for the clutch is by the brake resevoir under the cover panel.So i have removed the cover panel and cant see the resevoir!.ok I,m no mechanic but I would guess the slave cylinder is buggered.Any advice as it is, I cant even top the fluid up to get to the dealers.Oh and just to really make my day the warranty ran out five days ago.

hi sounds like your clutch master clyinder has gone.before you go to a main dealer like i did speak to joolz at joospeed .com . dealers will say that you will need to upgrade your clutch assembley and will charge you upto £1500 to do so . joolz will replace the clutch for a fraction of the price.hope this is of help , tell him gary with the big grin put you onto him. gary and cerbera

turns out it is the slave cylinder, question now is how do you get at the bloody thing,as it appears to be in the bell housing (great!!!!!).Any ideas?

It's a pretty big job, not really one you can consider doing yourself.

I had the same problem but over a period of time, the slave cylinder has a number of seals in line and as one let go the other sealed until I ran out of seals then big puddle. Unfortunately a big job, gearbox out, but the good news warranty covered it, bad news was a a finger on the clutch was damaged so new clutch and flywheel as I had to go for the up dated version. As the gearbox was out I only got hit for parts and 1 hr labour but still 900 pounds though a good job done by the garage, clutch much lighter and user friendly so I now don't have a leg like a Russian female shot putter.
