Tuscan for Cerbera???
Discussion
Chaps, i'm seriously thinking of buying a Tuscan and selling my Cerbera 4.5. What do you all think ie in term of reliability build quality etc. Does anyone think that Tuscan's will eventually stop depreciating at the rate they currently are or level out as this will be a factor. Finally, in terms of performance will it lose much to the Cerbera???
What are your general thoughts on the Tuscan vs the Cerbera debate??
Thanks in advance

I know a few tuscan owners who are delighted with their cars and say it's the best car TVR have ever made - the best compromise of performance, quality, looks, sound etc etc, and many of them are delighted how quickly engine rebuilds can be turned around now the backlog seems to be sorted, although two recent blow ups on engines built within a couple of days of each other suggests there could be another batch fault on the horizon.?? I also know a couple of former cerbie owners who wish they'd never sold the cerbie for the tuscan, and many owners who say the tuscan is the car that makes them never want to own a TVR ever again.you'll probably fall somewhere within those groups ...
Alastair: I was you 2 and a bit years ago. Your quandry was one I considered so for what it's worth here's my two penneth.
Cerbera 4.5 - slightly intransigent around town/typical urban speeds, say 40-60.
Tuscan - in this respect, light years ahead but then so was the Cerb Speed Six...
Handling: on the original model Tuscan I drove it was shite next to my Cerby which was far more sure footed, planted even. Terry Tuscan was Mr.Oversteer in a big way but would've cost me dear somehow in later life...
Grunt: Have to say, the Tuscan felt more spritely but then again, I was demo-ing with the roof off and combined with it's inherent 'instability' it may have just felt faster: this could've just been my inexperience with it but I drove home in Cerby feeling it was by FAR the more sorted chassis.
Sound effects: Well to be honest, Diablo/360 excepted, nothing I've ever heard on a road car compares, especially with a decatted sports exhaust! It's like a grenade slowly detonating.
If I had to do it again? Maybe a Tuscan S - though if you've really got TVRitus wait until you can somehow try out a fully developed Tuscan R. Like someone said elsewhere on PH, why not let owners 1 or 2 take the hit and snap up 'cheap' in a couple of years?
For now though, you still have a car most would murder for. Treasure it because you'll mourn when it's gone, believe me.
