Does anyone know if servicing by an independant like APM or Joospeed is likely to devalue the log book value.

Logic would say no as these guys usaully love what they do for a living, as opposed to the franchised dealers.

Theres also the argument that many of them were started by ex main dealer mechanics who are a/ sick of being exploited and/or b/ sick of seeing customers being exploited.

The more capable and enterprising head off to do their own thing, and independants are born.

The more reputable of these are well known to anyone witrh an interest in TVR's, and a service stamp from one of those would be considered as good (if not better!) than a main dealer by anyone who knew his stuff, IMHO. Any no-one in their right mind would but a TVR without some one who knew his stuff looking it over. So no problems - again IMHO.

Main problem will be if you need to trade in the car to an aformentioned main dealer, who will in all probability try to lever the price down as a result. But you are always better off buying a sorted year old TVR anyway, and the independants should have a good supply from satified customers!

As a very satisfied customer of joolspeed. I would recommend this. Also if you sell the car, the stamp would count for more! If I buy another TVR after mine I will definitely buy one that has had servicing by jools!
