Now I know this is fairly common amongst Cerberas (did it when I first bought the car) but since I've picked it up from the service it is doing it everytime I brake and is getting a bit embarrassing pulling up at lights and roundabouts.
New brake pads were fitted on the rears so I was expecting some brake squeal, however is there a technique to getting the new pads bedded in quickly thus eliminating or reducing it - hard, progressive braking from speed?
Any advice welcome,
Dan.

I had the same problem with my Cerb having had the rear pads changed. My dealer told me the squeak would go but it got progressively worse and more embarrasing.
Anyway, I took it on a track day a few weeks back and gave the brakes a good thrashing. I have not had a squeak out of them since.

'try driving with the handbrake on!!!'
Duh, don't think so!
The handbrake operates on separate shoes inside a drum at the center of the disk, it doesn't operate on the pads at all. On this basis, driving with lights on dip beam in daylight would have the same benefit to bedding pads in as driving with handbeake on.
Pad squeal will go in time, but it might take a few thousand miles.

Sorry not convinced about the thrash-it-round-a-track technique either. My new rear pads didn't start squeeling until AFTER my jaunt round Castle Combe a couple of weeks ago. Try the gooey stuff you can get for the back of the pads and shims. I think this is what Joolz uses but check with him. Mind you, I tried it and it only marginally improved things.
