Cooling System Schematic AJP
Discussion
Anyone out there got anything that passes for a schematic of the cooling spagetti on an AJP Cerb (4.5)?
Mine started leaking on Saturday, inspection of the pipework shows they're fooked, the metal one are way fragile, I'm grounded
. So its time for a new set of pipes, just wondered if there is a decent picture of what I'm dealing with, before I start?

Hi Warwick,
Something for you to look at; found on the ACT spares page: http://www.actproducts.co.uk/shop/sc007-tvr-cerber...
Not something you "knock-up" in an evening in the garage ???
Hope you get back on the Speed Champs scene soon?

Hello,
Two weeks ago I've replaced the pipes and hoses for ACT s/s pipes and silicon hoses on my 4.5 (believe the 4.2 is identical).
A picture (top view from front) of the old parts and how they are connected to each other and to the engine:

The lower radiator hose and the two small diameter hoses to the expansion tank are not shopwn in the picture.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
JW

and if you are that far...you may as well go for....

Ker....ching! Welcome to my world.
Seriously on the spaghetti.... I would be taking photos and making my own diagrams bit by bit as I dismantled it. Either that or take hoses off one at a time and replace new ones as you go.
If you go silicon hoses, be sure to nip them up a couple of times after a few heat cycles. they can be a little weepy as they bed in. Not as weepy as your wallet will be though.
Get it sorted for Prescott!

Trev,
I'm still planning on Prescott, couple of clear WE's before then so should be OK... Hope Pete's troubles turn out to be not too disastrous....
Those bits do look nice and shiny & not at all like mine do...
Now, the short induction looks good, oh and the nice shiny Nitrons, Polly bush, new wishbones.... oops
, control.....
Cheers

Just don't rush all that work, just 'cause Alistair had a body off (car that is) and ran it like-nothings-gone-wrong for the last two events.........I'm still impressed by that!!I'm still planning on Prescott, couple of clear WE's before then so should be OK... I think Pete will be out for a few events whilst he decides what's wrong & who will do the work? I think he'll use the "other" Griff for Prescott.
Fingers crossed for you.

Pretty much what I did, but used the new shiny ones on the lounge carpet instead Two weeks ago I've replaced the pipes and hoses for ACT s/s pipes and silicon hoses on my 4.5 (believe the 4.2 is identical).

Pain in the ass job so don't rush it and you'll be fine, prepare to loose your knuckles on this one! All the Cerbs pretty much have this coming now. Quite a few threads to use to get the info on here. In addition to that my top tips are:
- Stanley knife the old hoses out, easier and most of the old jubilees will cross thread anyway!
- You can get all of the hoses separately from autosiliconehoses, including a reinforced flexible rad hose for a LOT less than the ACT hose kits, you do have to cut them to size but you need to do this anyway with the ACT kits apparently to get perfect routing.
- You will need to retighten the clips after a good few runs.
- Don't rush removing the old capillary as it can be delicate.
- Take lots of before pics to help you.
- Repeat bleeding rad then water rails several times.

Just had a look & I see what you mean :-) Dont suppose anyone has a relevant parts list (list of pipes & pipe diameters), looking at the state of the pipes on there, I'm not sure measuring the ones that come off would help very much...- You can get all of the hoses separately from autosiliconehoses, including a reinforced flexible rad hose for a LOT less than the ACT hose kits, you do have to cut them to size but you need to do this anyway with the ACT kits apparently to get perfect routing.
