The starter motor on my 97 Cerbera is just spinning and not engaging with the engine. Does anyone know of any quick fix to get me going until I can get it to a dealer next week?

Sounds like the drive wheel isn't coming out to engage the flywheel, could be stuck (in which case give it a thump with something) or just not spinning fast enough (i.e. your battery isn't up to it).

I had this on my last starter motor, couldn't get it going with any amount of persuasion. i.e. Put on the back of a truck to the dealer. Had it replaced but I think it also took my ECU out as well, which I've been waiting for 7 weeks for that to be repaired

Hope you have better luck than me getting it all sorted !!!

Pleased to report all is well again. Managed to get going long enough to get to a dealer and new starter motor fitted. Apparently a common fault but covered under the warranty so no cost (for a change!)

Glad to see its sorted, mine too.

I wish we could find out why some cerbies chew 'em more than others though.
