After a recent starter motor problem my 4.5 cerbie couldn't be tuned up properly and it was diagnosed as a short circuit in the ECU.

Now the ECU was sent back to TVR to be repaired over 5 weeks ago and there is still no word on when it will be repaired. How can it take one of TVR's suppliers take this long to repair something ?

Has anyone else blown their ECU and taken this long to get repaired (or not in my case), after all its not an engine rebuild ???

Bad news I'm afraid. My ECU went in for the interface socket to be replaced, 11 months!!!!! The dealer fitted a stock one and once the work was completed returned the 'loan' one to stock.

Finally, after nearly seven weeks of waiting for TVR to get their act together my ECU has been repaired and returned. It turns out that there was a backlog of about 60 ECU units. One main factor for the delay was apparently TVR didn't pay the supplier until now.

Are TVR in trouble or just playing the tight margins game ??

There have been rumours (and this is completely unsubstantiated so no legal recourse please) that due to a few cash flow issues that some TVR suppliers have been asking for cash upfront on their parts. This appears to be causing a few supply and demand issues to TVR and obviously to those requiring spares.

Unfortunatlely this is not helping all those customer support issues that seem to be rearing their heads recently. It is especially worrying to those who use their TVR's as the only car or who intend to try to get their monies worth out of them.

Let's hope that it all sorts itself out amicably.
