I was just looking at a 96 Cerbera 4.2 the other day with intent to purchase..Tried playing with the air-con but had a few probs working out how it supposed to work.?

If you press the red button and turn the fan control you get hot air but you then cant turn it off again until you kill the ignition? the cold button seems to work ok.

The guy said he'd get it fixed, just want to make sure he does it properly. Is this a common fault or easy to fix?

I had to go look in the manual when I first got my car as nothing is marked, the red control is the heat, on/off is by pushing in and turning for fan. The red button next to this is for the rear window heater only, very confusing. The blue control is for cold, and works in the same way, ie push on or off and turn for fan speed. If there is a blue button next to this this switches the air con on and off, the red rear heater button is on a timer and cannot be swiched off once set. If there is no blue button there is no air con and believe me you do not want to drive the car with no aircon, even with it on it has a hard time cooling you down enough.

Worked out the other day on my Cerb that the aircon always turns off with the ignition, must remember to turn it on every time the ignition goes on again!
