I have a Chimaera and have wanted a Cerbera for ages. I drove a 4.5 yesterday and loved everything about it - but the visability is so poor.

I am over six feet tall and I have to hunch down to see out the front and I to see out the side windows I nearly have to bend over! Is this normal? Can the seats be lowered?

The car was great and my wife loved it. She took it for a spin and thought that it was a nice, comfortable and relaxing drive!

Does anybody else have this problem with visibilty?

Was it a new one (last couple of years)? If so, you may find that the central seat cushion can be removed, giving you some more room...

cheers,

There should definately be a way of sorting it, bearing in mind that Peter Wheeler is supposed to be 6'4". I doubt he would build a car he couldn't see out of.

I've no idea but I'm looking forward to reading the responses as I have the same problem myself.

Craig is right, from late 99 onwards the cushion in the centre of the seat is attached by velcro so can be pulled out and replaced afterwards if required. How old is your car ?

Johny S,

I am 6"4 ish and yes there is a problem looking out of the side window, but the front there is no problem, once you sort out the driving position.

It is a case of you just get used to it

I am 6'2" and have no problem with my 96 Cerbera. I use quite a reclined seating position though. If it is too straight I do have a problem.

in the tamora i'm told you can raise/lower the seat with washers etc. is this not the case with the cerbera seats?

JohnnyS - I'm 6'6", with an early '98 4.2. Trying to watch traffic lights change to green can be a problem if at the front of the queue but forward visibility no problem. Longest drive has been 150 miles non-stop and was completely conmfortable. Are the pedals fully adjusted?

Having tried a variety of driving positions, I have found the best way is to move the pedals back towards the bulkhead as far as possible (these are adjustable).

This has the effect of having to move your seat forward to reach the pedals. Then you are able to recline the seat to make the reach for the stearing wheel comfortable.

By reclining the seat you will lower your view in the windscreen. This does make getting in the car slightly more difficult, but assuming you have to use the good old head first Cerbera approach anyway, then there should be no problem.

I've fine-tuned my seat position and have relatively good forward vision, but I find I drive with my head inclined permanently 3 inches to the left to avoid cracking my right temple on the roof bar. (6'2")
