Any ideas on this one lads (and laddets)!
Getting a noise and vibration (similar to when you go onto the bumpy white motorway lines) coming from the right rear when I turn to the left. Strange thing is that when your in neutral it won't do it. Only when driving in gear. (Found this out by chance)
Any ideas at all? Diff? Driveshafts? suspension? Brakes? Just had gearbox out to seal leak and a rear bush done last weekend, maybe related?

Only turning in one Direction?!?!

That could be driveshaft related!! Maybe it's rubbing on something on the Chassis!!

On second thought that doesn't work?! Doubt it could be drivetrain related at all because everything still turns when not in gear!

Hmmm! Thats got me stumped!
Though I wouldn't rule out the gearbox!!

When I took delivery of my 4.5 in 1998 I had EXACTLY the problem you described only on left turns and only in gear. Turned out to be the exhaust was built just too close to the chassis on one side at the front and when cornering to the left the engine is thrown to the right a fraction relative to the chassis due to give in the engine mounts, causing contact and the grating noise you describe. Mine sounded like it was coming from the rear too but that was just the sound travelling down the chassis tubes and resonating.
Crawl about underneath and see if the pipes coming down from the manifolds or travelling along the chassis come within say 2mm. Fingers crossed, that'll be it. Alternatively, it could be a loose or shagged engine mount allowing too much lateral movement as described above.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your help, any more ideas welcome, Will get it back to Racetech ASAP, as all of these things have been removed/replaced recently when the Engine re-build had been done. Will let you know the result!

Well done!!
The noise was the exhaust rubbing on the chassis!
But the vibration was because one of my front shocks has gone.(Been told I have to replace the pair!)
Also my diff is on it's way out and the gearbox is still leaking! So it will be back up to Rachtech on Saturday to leave it there for another week or so and yet another large bill! Will this ever end? Must have spent £8,000 on it since buying it at the end of January!!
