Chaps, any idea what the correct idle speed is for a Cerbera 4.5 when warm? Mine seems to tick over at a shade over 1000 rpm-if it is supposed to be lower is it a simple DIY job and if so how do you adjust it?

950 according to the book; anything around there is fine. Easily adjusted if you want to take it back to a dealer, but if it's around 1000 and you're having no running problems, I'd leave it.

My 4.5 idles at a rock steady 900 rpm. It's worth getting your dealer to check the set-up as a slightly high idle could be due to the mixture being a tad weak. It only takes them a few minutes to sort out so the wallet shouldn't be assulted too badly.

From personal experience do not adjust the idle - if it deviates far from norm (850-1050 is the norm) then there may be something wrong with the electronic setup. I adjusted my idle but when we connected it to a lap top one throttle pot was reading 28 and the other was fluctuating around 10 both should read around 19-20.....if there is an issue with rough idling take it to a dealer/specialist and check the elctronic reding first.....but it sounds perfectly normal to me as long as you do not get overly jerky response (kind of off-on power) when cruising or almost stalling at standstill when the a/c is turned on.
