Similar happened to Doncaster one lost Nissan franchise said were etting Alfa franchise will google see if they ever did.
Car I looked at many options listed for it that it did have. E-mailed previous owner she a solicitor no reply. Asked for a copy of the Hundred + points that they check on ech car -wouldn't even give me a blank copy.
Saled manager told me it just been serviced befoore I went for test drive within 20 yrs low coolant level and tyre pressure warning lights came on
If you buy go in with your eyes open and pay £100 on credit card to get some S75 protection
P.S tld by someone that they were peevishly Reg Vardy

I would say twenty years for tyre pressure and coolant level is quite good.

Same happened at Brunel Ford a few years back. Just so happened to be as I was buying a car from them too. Managed to get the car out, but it wasn't prep`d and a few extra bits (touch ups etc) hadn't been done. I also lost the GAP cover I had paid for and it has put me off getting it ever since. They resurrected themselves shortly afterwards as Trust Ford, which was rather ironic.

It’s not a Doncaster regional dialect then?

In 50 years of car ownership I have only ever once bought a car from someone in Doncaster.
The local dialect is indeed strange - when asked if the aircon had been working recently he said "yes".
Apparently this means "no" in Doncaster-speak.
The auxiliary belt had been replaced by a shorter one that didn't even go around the (siezed) compressor pulley, as Kwik Fit showed me when I took the car to them for re-gassing.

It's an unpleasant situation. Apparently the seller was not completely honest. It's good that you discovered the problem in time

Hmm..... Evans Halshaw. I'll probably get this message deleted for 'naming and shaming' but here goes.....
We went into EH Carshop in Norwich about 5 years ago. Daughter wanted a 5-door Ford Ka (The + car, not the little 2 door). Anyway, they didn't have one and tried to get us to buy anything else of similar size. The 'consultant' also said "If you find one at another branch we can get it here for you to see. This sounded more promising, and we indeed found one so called him a couple of days later and asked about getting it. We were told "we can't get that as it's EH, not EH Carshop". We said it didn't make sense to us, same company but different sign? We gave up and got one from an independent in the end.
